JEETEGA INDIA

We; INDIANS are facing the most decisive election, since the time we decided to raise our voice against the British Rule. In 1857, we had Mangal Pandey, who expressed his intolerance against the inhumane dictates of the British and initiated the movement which led to India’s independence.

Today, in a different scenario, a different issue confronts us. Yet; similar zeal, oneness of action, feeling of being an INDIAN are the traits which are sternly demanded from me, you and more precisely “us”.

THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION FACE AN ELECTION IN WHICH WE EITHER VOTE FOR INDIA OR AGAINST INDIA

You must be pondering as to what is this all about. I am referring to the Pride, Respect and Honor of our Nation, which is at stake owing to the possible failure of Common Wealth Games 2010, being organized by INDIA.

It is true that it has been a comprehensive blunder throughout. Whether a predominantly poor country like India needed such an event, money could have been directed to more significant aspects of this nation, infrastructure of Delhi could have been planned more appropriately with long term perspective and the present financial scandal involving CWGOC (common wealth games organizing committee) are all debatable issues but; what is definite, unquestionable and most certain; is that, safeguarding the honor of INDIA is our greatest obligation.

WE HAVE TO GIVE CLEAR MANDATE IN FAVOR OF INDIA.

So, forget everything else for the moment and join hands to give full support to the organizers in order to make the games a success. The organizing body should be allowed to work smoothly, without letting them bother about the embezzlement of funds which is now evident. No case should be opened right now. As, all this will halt the progress of the work, which is exactly we do not want at this stage when the event is so near. It is the political compulsion of the government to make a few individuals scapegoat by ousting them; to instigate a feeling of fair governance, displaying sincerity and political will of working against the corrupt. However, people of this country are now adequately awakened to be influenced by any such drama.

Brainstorm for a moment: Try to recollect the number of corruption cases which have come to light, a myriad cases must have come to your mind instantly. Now, try to remember how many politicians have been prosecuted. You might have difficulty recalling a sole name. Even the most dreaded criminals have been lying in jails for years to be executed. This is how our system is, or; by all fairness, this is how we have made our system to be.

A disclaimer is warranted here: All of the above does not in any way mean that; action should not be taken against those involved. The individuals, officers, organizations, politicians who are involved in misuse of funds collected from our hard earned money are most hated criminals of this country. This too, is our responsibility to make sure that fair investigation is conducted and the tainted be put to justice by punishing them. Hence, all the cases can be opened once we have successfully conducted the Common Wealth Games 2010.

For the moment our only mission is to showcase our country as a power to reckon with. World is looking at us and no one is missing any opportunity to malign our image at the global level. Britain has offered to host the games in case India is not prepared for the event. Australia has expressed concern about the security arrangements. Many competent athletes have reported there unavailability for the CWG’s in India. Queen of Britain has conveyed her abstinence from the event. Though, the nonattendance of Queen does not affect us but we need to understand what the world is trying to project.

Will we let our country be defamed? NO, we will not let that happen. INDIA gives a thunderous roar to the world: Come and look at the glittering success of this country.

People of this country join together for a national mission: HONOR INDIA. And we will make INDIA win with a thumping majority.

Vote for Honor India Support Common Wealth Games.

A peep into the Village Polity

Sitting in a fairly comfortable room of my farmhouse in the midst of fields in a village in Haryana; I am feeling the Heat. Not of the scorching sun of this summer which is making new records with each passing day. Its Election time!! Elections? Only a handful of people living in the cities might be aware of it, but here electioneering is at the zenith. Yes, it is in reference with the Panchayat Samiti, Block Samiti and Zila Parishad Elections. Sometime in a Law class, a Professor termed the Panchayat Elections as the most multifaceted and enigmatic of all. I now realize, why. There have been a string of intriguing events in the months preceding the elections. I have been following it all in the heart of the action terrain, though trying to maintain a sanctimonious distance. Over a period of less than two months, there have been at least 15 individuals endorsing their candidature for the Post of Sarpanch. All of them professing their respective names and trying to woo the others.

It has been more than a decade and half since the inception of caste based reservation at Panchayat level. Getting deeper into the detail of village level Panchayat system – there are different wards for which members are elected. These members who are called Panch, along with the Sarpanch(head of the panchayat) form a village panchayat. The village, in case study has 11 wards, out of which 7 wards are reserved for this term. There have been three draws to decide, if this term will be reserved for SC/ST or for women or it would be an open candidature for the Sarpanch election. There have been several writs filed in the Hon’ble High Court of Punjab and Haryana, with regard to malfeasance in the draws. Anyhow, everything is settled now and the elections are on 6th of July. One of the criterion for deciding on the reservation is the number of electorate from different castes. If there are more SC/ST voters in a village then that village would be reserved for SC/ST. Furthermore, there are lot of intricate procedures and technicalities involved in assigning which area would be reserved. Apparently everything appears to be fine, giving an upright impression of upliftment of women and weaker sections of society. But then, Is politicization of caste not dividing the nation? Moreover, this procedure is not justly explicit. If there are already more votes in the SC/ST category, then naturally their candidate would have a better chance of winning the election. Why not let them be free of stigma of a lower caste and contest an open election. Perhaps winning an election against a general category candidate would give more confidence, vigor and authority.

Divisiveness at the very root of the nation: Now, try to obtain an idea of how bad this gets. In a village of less than 2000 electorate, people are not just divided into SC/ST, BC and general categories. In each of these; there are many castes, who too consider themselves different from the other. The case village, having this term a reserve SC/ST Sarpanch candidature elaborates how much The Caste has divided our roots. Even in the SC/ST category there are voters from 6 different castes and they want their candidate. Voting will be done solely on the basis of caste, not on the basis of credentials of the candidate. This trend continues till the Parliament. Some might believe that this is just in villages due to lesser literacy levels, but I have come across well literate individuals/friends who are generously into differentiation on the basis of caste. They differentiate not only on the basis of upper-caste and Lower-caste (SC/ST), but even in the so called upper-caste. There is so much of this malice called Caste in our system that it threatens to destroy our society and Nation. I have keenly observed this reservation at least at the panchayat (village) level but I am yet to come across any benefit it has done to the fate of a poor villager. We have given Politicos, the license to divide us first in terms of religion and then in caste. When will we have an electorate which will be concerned about the ability, credentials and the willingness of the candidate to work justly, rather than bothering for religion or caste?

Yes, DIVISION is a requisite, not in terms of caste but in terms of Rich Class and Poor Class. There has been so much disparity of income between these two classes in this decade. Policies should be formulated so as to help the poor and bring purchasing power parity. We need development, which 80% of our country has not seen yet.

REAL INDIA demands Progress.

The eternal phenomenon of F* continued:

Bomb blast takes place somewhere in the country. Lots of announcements are made by police and government, in the media about security being beefed up. Then we face an arduous revelation, that our police and security forces are not properly armed. Why can’t a country boosting of its development and progress; give to their security forces- proper training, arms and protection. In the Mumbai blasts of 26/11, it came out that our policemen didn’t even have appropriate bullet proof jackets. I have heard it almost every time blasts have taken place in Mumbai, that, Mumbai doesn’t stop. Mumbaikars have the never say die attitude and they move on. I ask what alternative they have? One has to move out to earn his living. Ask the family of those affected and ask even others toiling day night for their living about the fear in their mind when they walk out of their homes. In Dantewada massacre; more than 75 of our jawans were made scapegoat. At such dreaded places, these forces do not even have drinking water and proper food to eat, let alone, having potent arms and ammunition to fight. How will they fight for our security? Every now and then, there is an event which leaves us with a feeling of being cheated day and night. The media talks about it for a few days and then everything gets buried by the counter weight of money on every department, organization and individual. The multitude of common people have no other alternative but to F* and F*.

Why the F* and F*

We have sometimes felt proud, sometimes impassioned; of the very Indian attribute of- forgive and forget. But, is it really a gratifying attribute or for that matter; is it genuinely an attribute? I read an article some days back, glorifying that we forgive the most cold-blooded individuals and forget the most inhuman, petrifying acts. I profoundly disagree with this sanctimonious view and consider it as self-deception or a delusion.
To forgive and forget is not our generosity; rather it is all we can do. Due to over indulgence of media almost every happening - big or small, gets highlighted; though often manipulated in interest of the predominant. In the Budget session 2010 of parliament, the leader of opposition, raised the issue of hoarding, black marketing and ever increasing prices of sugar. The profits of sugar industry got a super normal jump of 1900% in one quarter. Everyone in the parliament and most of us from the educated lot, know of the connivance between the sugar industry and one of the most powerful Union Ministers in the UPA Govt. It was disgraceful to see the Minister and allies in government laughing at such serious allegations in the parliament. What we could do, except for forgetting it? It does not matter whether we forgave it or not.
Similarly, few days back a news channel showed tons of wheat decaying in government warehouses. We were battling with ever increasing inflation and on the other side; the most essential component of our food (wheat) was stocked with our government. Yet, if you remember, there was import of wheat by the government. If produce from our own country is lying in the repository then you are smart enough to understand that it must have been done for the wicked interests of the people in power. What happened after this news broke out? The news just vanished and we forgave and forgot. Some might argue that the wheat was not apt for eating. Recollect the news that India is importing inferior quality wheat from Australia for more price than the MSP (minimum selling price) given to poverty-stricken farmers of India. Even if, for once we take the argument that the wheat which was in stock was of inferior quality, that also raises so many questions. Why did the government waste so much money to stock huge quantity of such wheat and payed for the warehouses and its employees? Instead, it could have been used to feed hundreds of cattle, dying of hunger. Again F* and F*
to be continued....

Recognize the Real Stars

Having got promiscuous in the perplexity of - reality or compulsion of faith, it is imperative for us to recognize the Real Stars in our life, that altruistic sole which is the root, the curator, the guardian, the patron. Unfortunately, nearly all of us are unable to discover and acknowledge the most significant, noble, inseparable part of an individual; without which sheer existence of a new being isn't conceivable.
Precedent ideation surely would have allured most of us to think of our procreators, recognized as Mother and Father. However, how many of us; realize, admit and appreciate them as the Real Stars, perpetually glowing day and night to make our life shine. Invariably every parent, regardless of financial standing, yearns to give most comfortable life to their children. The morals, ethics and values ( which I think, make or destroy an individual) are bred in the child even before entering the education system. I consider myself lucky to have been born to, two most virtuous person's existent, at least whom I know. ( I have seen them hallow their life not only for me and my siblings but also for those who didn't deserve)
Parents carry out every endeavor to fulfill their most cherished desire that their children live an accomplished, joyous and fulfilling life. Nonetheless, what is more important here is to realize that every endeavor or effort is not bound to succeed and each one of us has to put in fervent effort not only for oneself, also for parents, who see their joy in us. Mother is the lone individual on earth, with whom, one might have the worst fight with, and be rest assured that she would be there to care within minutes, be it, serving something to eat, managing room, or doing laundry and even giving her child the much needed emotional support in time of despair. Father; might pretend to be impassive and not react to his child's' affliction, but distress in his eyes is distinctly visible.
In the most harrowing time, everyone- friends and associates distance themselves. When even God appears to be far off and indifferent, one can invariably find Mummy & Daddy- the Two Real Stars; ceaselessly burning to shine the life of their children.
I can reassure all of you, that, when everyone else says good bye; one (the child) would always be tenderly welcome in the heart and soul of parent, wherever they might be. Never forget to love, adore, respect and care for your Mom & Dad. "Remember, they are the Real Stars"

Faith a Dilemma: Reality or Compulsion

Is it the arrangement of destiny or an occultism for the way we subsist on earth. God; as we all or I must say most of us believe created this world, and he still is governing every bit of it. I too have been a firm believer since childhood. Everything which worked seemed to be an act of God and the faith got stronger and deep rooted. However, why does it happen that when things get tough, no act or endeavor gives positive results and life appears to be completely out of direction and control; then all the belief and faith manages to diminish itself? We as humans, in spite of our hearty feeling to be in the aegis of the Holy Spirit which is in Heaven, fail to sustain the same level of conviction. Though we continually rely on something miraculous to turn up and change our fortune. What if that miracle or supernatural event which was to get life back on track doesn't come about? A perplex state of human nature emerges where one runs into conflict within. Continual existence of tough unfavorable conditions strives to overpower the belief that has grown and refined over the years. If God is observing everything, then why doesn't He see the injustice done to the innocent? Why do rich, corrupt, cheat keep on flourishing and impoverished remain in destitute? Why do people who commit sin, live happily and the most pious, righteous suffer?
Some individuals stand apart, fight out averse situation by virtue of their zeal and fate. A lot have to take heart and get content with the hope that all their intricacies will be magically resolved. Having said all this; the faith and belief, self conscience and the fear of an invincible, all powerful supreme power is essential so as to preponderate some level of sanctity in human demeanor.

Conceptualization

Life is mystic. We as the most prudent creation of the Almighty are induced to canvass myriad routes. I commenced my odyssey here in this world more than twenty five years back in a small town named Hisar of Haryana which is a state in one of the most eclectic countries of the planet earth : India.

Fetus of the infant "the candid" is a strong, vigorous urge to evolve and exhibit human ideation. "THE CANDID" stands for plain, frank and simple speaking on all the diverse routes which we encompass in this mystic journey called LIFE.

For fructifying this small plant I have chosen this medium of communication to have access to all of you.

I look forward to a firm, sturdy and an amorous alliance.

Warm regards
